Joel N. Christoph

Global Shaper, Florence Hub

Joel Christoph is a Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School. His research focuses on the economics of frontier AI governance, including how market-based tools like tradable compute permits can align safety incentives across jurisdictions.

He is the founder of 10Billion.org, an initiative for global public goods, and co-founder of the Equiano Institute (AI governance in Africa). He has held research positions at the Centre for the Governance of AI, the World Bank, the International Energy Agency, and Oxford's Future of Humanity Institute.

A former Curator of the Global Shapers Florence Hub and a delegate to the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting of the New Champions, Joel speaks Dutch, English, French, German, Japanese, and Spanish, with working proficiency in Italian and Mandarin Chinese.
