Ali heads the Investment Origination team in the EDB tasked with the sourcing and attraction of high value investments emanating from the Gulf Cooperation Council , Middle East & North Africa and wider Asia regions across key growth sectors encompassing Financial Services, Manufacturing & Logistics, Real Estate & Tourism, Education & Healthcare , Technology & Innovation. Prior to assuming this position, Ali headed the Manufacturing, Transport and Logistics Business Development sector team in the EDB and was heavily involved in numerous strategic initiatives such as the establishment of the Bahrain Logistics Board ( transport and logistics sector reform ), Bahrain national e-commerce strategy, Bahrain Waste Management and Renewable Energy strategy, Bahrain Industry 4.0 strategy as well as new investment cluster initiatives such as the US-Bahrain Trade Zone, Bahrain International Airport cargo and logistics area and others. Prior to joining the EDB in 2013, Ali was a Private Banking and Wealth Management account manager in Kuwait Finance House (Bahrain) responsible for portfolio management of ultra-high net worth individuals and corporations and private equity fund raising.
