Sixto Cancel is a social entrepreneur. He founded Think of Us (TOU) to transform the U.S. child welfare system and improve outcomes for the millions of families it affects. Led and guided by people with lived experience, TOU partners with governments and lived experts to leverage tech, data, research, and design to build a NEW child welfare system that is responsive to the needs of the people it impacts.

TOU is in demand, currently working directly with 22 states and continues to partner with the White House and leading federal administrators across the Obama, Trump, and Biden administrations. Most recently, TOU raised $47.5M via TED’s Audacious Project to work with governments to shift $10B to transform child welfare, preventing kids from entering the system for poverty versus abuse, ensuring that those entering are placed with trusted adults versus strangers and creating stronger, family-like supports for older youth exiting the system.
