Shu Yinbiao was appointed the chairman of the state-owned major coal fired power generator China Huaneng Group Co., Ltd. He has long devoted to management and research on power planning, construction and dispatching, large-grid control, UHV grids, smart grids, renewable energy development, and international business. His former positions include: President, State Grid Construction Company; Executive Vice-President and President, State Grid Corporation of China. As President, International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), one of the world's three major international standard development organizations, leads the Market Strategy Board (MSB) to orient emerging technologies and market trends, identify priorities in new areas, and compile IEC development strategies and planning, as well as strategic policies.
