David Giordano, Managing Director, is the Head of Renewable Power Americas and APAC at BlackRock Real Assets, responsible for originating investment opportunities, establishing industry partnerships, and leading transactions. Mr. Giordano has more than 20 years of investment experience. Previously, he was one of the original members of Babcock & Brown's North American infrastructure team where he closed $4 billion of wind transactions and worked closely in an advisory arrangement with the Airtricity North American team. Mr. Giordano's extensive energy industry experience also includes his work at FPL Energy (now NextEra) where he developed and acquired operating and development power assets and played a key role in the first non-registered 144A bond offering for a portfolio of wind assets. In 2011, Mr. Giordano joined BlackRock as one of the founding members of its Renewable Power Group. He has played a leading role in growing the business to its current position as the largest private renewables investment platform globally, with ~$5bn in AuM across more than 150 wind and solar projects across 4 continents. Mr. Giordano sits on the Renewable Power Group's Management, Leadership and Investment Committees, and is involved in setting and implementing the strategy for Renewable Power and Infrastructure more broadly. Mr. Giordano is the "Chairman-Elect" for the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE) Board of Directors.
