Founder and Chair, Kandufa Foundation

Ayesha Nurain Janah is an entrepreneur and leader known for driving transformation across the corporate governance, construction, ESG strategy, and philanthropy sectors. Nurain is the Founder of Kandūfā Foundation supporting leadership development, environmental stewardship, and cultural preservation in South Asia.

Nurain is the Founder of Rehendhi Consulting, a global advisory firm specialising in ESG strategy, corporate governance, and inclusive leadership, advising multinational corporations and industry leaders on sustainability and social impact, pioneering leadership programs that have elevated women into senior executive and board roles.

Nurain serves as the Founder and Inaugural Chair of the Institute of Directors Maldives, shaping governance standards in the region. She is also the Founder of Authenticity Aotearoa, an award-winning charity empowering women of colour.

With over a decade of experience in corporate governance, finance, and strategy, Nurain is the Group Vice Chair at Hotels and Resorts Investment Maldives (HARIM), where she leads strategy, operations, and investment growth across luxury real estate, marine services, and sustainable development. A Chartered Accountant, she has worked across restructuring, governance, and finance, bringing a sharp business acumen to complex global industries.

Her commitment to systemic change is reflected in her advisory roles shaping policies on online safety, women’s employment, and economic development. Recognised for her contributions to governance, business, and social impact, Nurain has been a finalist in the Women in Governance Awards (2021, 2022) and named a University of Auckland 40 Under 40 Business Leader (2020).
