The world is entering a particularly disruptive period in human history. The complexity and demands of the Chief Risk Officer role is evolving in response. CROs are expected to proactively manage multiple strategic threats, from climate risk to cyber-attacks. These external risks often are not controllable, but can pose existential challenges to financial, business and operating models.
The Chief Risk Officer Community seeks to ensure that organizations are better prepared to anticipate, manage and rebound faster from global shocks and their spillover effects, to help minimize the impact of the next potential global shocks on markets and livelihoods. To support those efforts, the mid-year Chief Risk Officers Outlook aims to provide a real-time view on critical global risks facing economies and societies over the coming year, to identify priorities for further action and active support for enhanced risk mitigation strategies.
