How Fashion Label Sheltersuit Is Helping Homeless People

Every clothing item the label sells helps to fund the Sheltersuit Foundation, a Dutch non-profit founded in 2014 by designer Bas Timmer. It makes bold and colourful garments from upcycled leftover materials sourced from luxury fashion products. The suits are manufactured by Syrian refugees who might otherwise have difficulty accessing the labour markets. Sheltersuit has distributed more than 12,000 suits to date and debuted at Paris Fashion Week in 2022 using fabrics and Studio scapegoated by luxury label Chloe. Here’s more about it.
