2022年4月20日、スイス、ジュネーブ - 30歳から40歳までの世界で最も意欲的な研究者、革新的な起業家、活動家、有望な政治家が、世界経済フォーラムの2022年度ヤング・グローバル・リーダーズ（YGL）のコミュニティに加わりました。
YGLは、世界経済フォーラムの創設者兼会長であるクラウス・シュワブ教授によって2005年に設立。複雑化し相互に関連する課題に取り組みながら、持続可能かつ誰も取り残すことのない包括的な世界を実現するために、リーダーが責任を持つ世界を創造することをその目的としています。YGLの会員および「卒業生」は、現在120カ国以上から1,400人を超え、著名なメンバーには、ジャシンダ・アーダーン首相、サナ・マリン首相、コスタリカのカルロス・アルバラード・ケサダ大統領、起業家のイイノルワ・アボイェジ、レア・マズムダル・シンハル、平和活動家のビクター・オシェン、経済学者のエステル・デュフロなどが含まれます。
YGLは、今最もエキサイティングかつダイナミックな分野で活躍し、インパクトに重きを置いています。この一年で、YGLはインドの森林破壊や劣化した土地の2100万ヘクタールを回復する大胆なコミットメントを実現。また世界中の健康なコミュニティを作るために、クリーンエアーのための初の企業運動を立ち上げ、さらにはグローバルな公正と女性のリーダーシップを促進するために10億ドルのジェンダーファンドを立ち上げています。
2022年の「クラス」は男女平等。42カ国から成ります。メンバーは3年間のリーダーシップ開発プログラムに参加。インパクトのある次のレベルに到達するための支援として、エグゼクティブ教育コース、視察、信頼できる同世代のネットワークとのコラボレーションやアイデアを試す機会などを受けます。
「今年選出されたリーダーたちは、各分野で卓越した創意工夫とビジョンを発揮しています。様々な分野、地域、課題を持つリーダーたちですが、より包括的で持続可能な世界を目指すという点では一致しています」とヤング・グローバル・リーダー・フォーラムのであるマライア・レビンは述べています。
またYGLフォーラムの理事であるニコール・シュワブは次のように述べています。「世界経済フォーラムは、選出されたYGLのメンバーを歓迎します。世界の状況を改善しようとする彼らのコミットメントは、これまで以上に協力が必要とされる今、極めて重要です」。
