As the Head of public policy for Sequoia Capital India and Southeast Asia, I drive the public policy agenda for the startup ecosystem and venture capital industry. I advise Sequoia’s portfolio companies on regulatory risks and help unlock new levers of growth. I work with stakeholders to help create a progressive policy framework, and stitch together partnerships to align the vision of founders and governments.

Prior to joining Sequoia, I led government outreach and advocacy efforts for Salesforce across India & South Asia. The role entailed being as a trusted partner to all key external stakeholders on matters related to digital policymaking, data protection & privacy, cloud computing regulations, ethical use of technology, equality and sustainability.

Previously, I led a team of policy professionals at Uber across South Asia, engaging government stakeholders on ride-sharing regulations and digital payments.

I was ranked among IMPACT Magazine’s 50 Most Influential Women in Media, Advertising and Marketing in 2018; also received the 'Women in Excellence Award' by Women Economic Forum in 2019.

Before joining the world of public policy, I spent two decades as a business journalist and TV news anchor. As the Economic Affairs Editor at NDTV, I regularly interviewed global leaders including Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Indra Nooyi, Richard Branson, Sheryl Sandberg, Jeffrey Immelt, Michael Dell, Nikesh Arora, Raghuram Rajan.

I covered global economic events including G20 meetings, World Bank-IMF meetings, OPEC meetings, World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting in Davos, and also travelled as part of the Prime Minister’s Media delegation.

During my career as a journalist, I've received several prominent awards including Ramnath Goenka Award for Excellence in Journalism by President Pratibha Patil and Seema Nazareth-Business Standard award for Young Journalists by President KR Narayanan, Communicator of the Year by Association of Business Communicators of India (ABCI).

I received the British Chevening Scholarship for Young Print Journalists to study at the University of Westminster in 2003. I was invited as the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) Fellow by the US State Department in 2007. I was chosen among 45 global leaders for the Asian Fellowship on Global Governance in 2013. I've completed mid-career programs at the Wharton Business School and INSEAD Business School.

I've been a regular speaker at leading conferences like WEF India Economic Summit, MindMine Summit, CyFy India, UN Gender Equality Summit, UN Global Compact Leaders Summit.
