The humanities are becoming more important. Here's why
I don’t know why we call them “soft skills.”
Anna Moro is professor of linguistics (Associate Professor, Department of Linguistics and Languages) at McMaster, but has held the Associate Dean (Academic) role for the Faculty of Humanities since 2013. She has been involved in several new initiatives that have sought to highlight the value of a Humanistic training, including two initiatives with the School of Business (featured in the Toronto Star and the Atlantic), and has led the development of a certificate program on leadership and cross-cultural literacy (discussed at Univation 2018). She also developed and directs a transition program for international students; the program is distinctive because of its links to Humanities and linguistics (including research) and its focus on results.
