This Start-up Recycles CO2 Into Sustainable Animal Feed

Deep Branch uses CO2 captured from industrial processes. It feeds the gas into a fermentation tank and adds hydrogen. Microbes convert these inputs into a sustainable protein called Proton. This is dried into a powder and used as the main ingredient in sustainable animal feed. Global demand for animal products is expected to double by 2050 but humanity is already struggling to farm sustainably. Almost 80% of the world’s soy crop is grown to feed livestock. This growing demand for soy is linked to deforestation, which is one of the biggest causes of climate change and endangers wildlife by destroying habitats Watch the video to learn more about how Deep Branch’s technology for making sustainable animal feed could help save the planet.
