Kelly Ommundsen

Director, Global Regulatory Innovation Platform
World Economic Forum

概要

Kelly Ommundsen is the Director of the Global Regulatory Innovation Platform (GRIP) for the World Economic Forum. As head of the WEF’s work on regulatory innovation and global public policy, Kelly works with governments on one of the hardest questions they face: how to regulate AI and frontier technologies without stifling innovation. GRIP was launched so that countries do not have to answer that question alone. Through the platform, regulators exchange experience, test new approaches and develop practical tools they can adapt to their own national contexts. Over more than 15 years at the World Economic Forum, across Geneva and New York, Kelly has helped shape and scale several of the WEF's major initiatives. She established its portfolio on GovTech and Digital Public Infrastructure, helping governments use technology to deliver better public services. As Head of Digital Inclusion, she led the EDISON Alliance, a global coalition that has connected more than one billion people to essential digital services. She also created the Global Collaboration Village, the Forum’s pioneering presence in the metaverse, in partnership with more than 100 organizations. In addition, she has led the Forum’s engagement with the US Government and across the Middle East and North Africa. Kelly also understands how institutions work from the inside. For more than five years, she served as Chief of Staff to the Forum’s Founder and Executive Chairman, managing the Board of Trustees, its highest governance body, and serving as its official secretary. She holds a Master’s in Global Leadership from the Forum’s Global Leadership Fellows Programme and a Master of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University. Before joining the Forum, she worked on international development, gender equality and sustainable growth with organizations across Africa, Latin America and Asia.
