Formerly with IBM Zurich Research Lab, Switzerland and the University of Augsburg, Germany. Guest assignments at National University of Singapore, Leiden University and CSIRO-Sydney. Co-founder of the Global Young Academy. Fellow of the American Physical Society and of the Netherlands Academy of Engineering. Board of Reviewing Editors Science Magazine (2019-2025). Research interests include quantum materials, superconductivity, nanotechnology and energy-efficient (brain-inspired) electronics.
