Mr Chung Euisun is Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, the 2nd largest Korean conglomerate by sales (USD 205B, 2023). He is the only son of Hyundai Motor Group’s honorary chairman Chung Mong-koo. Mr Chung is the grandson of Hyundai Motor Group’s founder, the widely-respected Korean businessman and politician, the late Chung Joo-young.
According to Forbes, Chung Euisun is ranked 10th in the Korea’s Richest People and his father, Chung Mong-koo is 5th (2023).
Chung Euisun was appointed chairman of Hyundai Motor Group in March 2020, succeeding his father, Chung Mong-Koo, who retired from the board. As president of Kia from 2005 to 2009, Mr Chung grew the subsidiary auto brand faster than Hyundai Motors.
