Mountaineer, Entrepreneur & Founder, Orophile Ventures (Climbing4SDGs)

Anurag Maloo is a survivor of a near-fatal fall on Mt. Annapurna (8,091m) in April 2023. Trapped alone for over 72 hours inside a deep Himalayan crevasse, he endured one of the longest successful CPRs in medical history. From this miraculous survival emerged a renewed purpose: The Voice of Glaciers Foundation (TVGF) — a global call for climate action, rooted in lived experience, storytelling, and advocacy.

An internationally recognized mountaineer, entrepreneur, startup ecosystem builder, and impact leader, Anurag brings over 15 years of experience at the intersection of innovation, venture capital, & social impact. His purpose-driven leadership is heartfelt and rare — a one-in-8-billion story of hope, faith, resilience, reinvention, and human connection.

Through his leadership roles with leading venture capital and investment platforms like Techstars, Seedstars, Startup Weekend, & UNLEASH, Anurag has empowered thousands of founders, startups, & changemakers globally — building thriving entrepreneurial ecosystems that drive innovation, inclusive growth, and sustainable economic development.

As the Founder & Managing Director of Orophile Ventures, he champions early-stage, impact-driven startups aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). His UN-endorsed Climbing4SDGs initiative uniquely blends high-altitude adventure with advocacy for climate action and sustainability.

A former Teach For India Fellow, Jagriti Yatri, RSA Fellow (FRSA), and Australia India Youth Dialogue (AIYD) Young Leader, Anurag’s global impact has earned him prestigious accolades, including, REX Karamveer Chakra (2013), RISE Global Hero Award (2023), and World Economic Forum's Young Global Leader (2025). He is an alumnus of the South East Asia Leadership Academy (SEALA), a member of the Society of International Business Fellows (SIBF), and the Founding Curator of the WEF Global Shapers Ajmer Hub.

Beyond his entrepreneurial work, Anurag serves on the boards of TiTLi, a pioneering Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) initiative, & AVP School, where he advocates for inclusive education & holistic learning.

With a deep love for travel and cross-cultural learning, Anurag has explored over 60 countries across all 7 continents, building bridges of empathy, resilience, and collaboration.

A sought-after keynote speaker, Anurag regularly speaks at global forums, universities, corporations, and schools — sharing his powerful journey across themes of resilience, reinvention, technology, climate action, social impact, sustainability, and adventure.
