1988, PhD, Fulbright scholar, in International Finance, Stern School of Business, New York University. With Singapore Management University (SMU): previous portfolios include positions as Associate Dean, Lee Kong Chian School of Business and Dean, Office of Executive & Professional Education; currently, V3 Group Professor of Family Entrepreneurship, Vice-President Business Development; Finance Professor (Practice); Academic Director, Business Families Institute and International Trading Institute. Former Member of the Board: K1 Ventures, Health Management International, Singapore’s Central Provident Fund and GovTech. Member of the Board: PBA Group, Keppel US Prime REIT and Prudential Assurance Company Singapore; Chair: Asian Bond Fund 2 Supervisory Committee, Monetary Authority of Singapore. Serves on the HR Transformation Advisory Panel and Singapore Customs Advisory Council. Conference speaker, panel moderator and commentator. Advises a number of startup firms such as Stashaway and Staff-on-Demand, in addition to serving as advisor to private firms such as SWAT of Goldbell Group. Research interests are in family office and family business, investor behaviour, alternate investments and enterprise risk management. Recipient: Singapore Public Administration Medal, Bronze (2010), Silver (2016), and the Adult Education Prism Award (2017) for contributions to the education and public sectors.
