The Institute of Transportation Studies at the University of California, Davis (ITS-Davis) conducts cross-disciplinary policy analysis on fuels and transportation systems, including its flagship programme, Sustainable Transportation Energy Pathways Program (STEPS). The STEPS programme engages major energy and auto companies as well as transportation, energy and environmental government agencies into a research consortium that examines comprehensive analysis of the four transportation energy pathways: electricity, biofuels, hydrogen and fossil fuel.
