Kamer

Kamer is an organization which, over 10 years, has reached about 40,000 women through awareness-raising activities and providing psychological, economic and legal support for nearly 3,000 women facing domestic violence. Today, Kamer is active in all 23 provinces of Eastern and South-Eastern Anatolia providing psychological, employment and legal counselling to those facing domestic violence and developing methods to combat crimes committed against women under the guise of honour. Kamer has also supported 300 women facing threats of honour killings since 2003 and launched an entrepreneurship programme opening restaurants, small production facilities and childcare centres run by women to serve their communities
