GIVO is a climate tech start-up focused on enabling the circular economy in Africa, providing tech-enabled low-carbon recycling solutions to communities. Its GIVO Centre processes 90 metric tonnes of plastic annually, avoiding 2,000 metric tonnes of CO2 emissions. The GIVO Technology Platform leverages advanced internet of things technology to track material flow, emissions avoidance, social metrics, operations and compliance metrics, providing transparency, verification and financing for the waste management value chain. There have been 10 million individual transactions. The company has collected and recycled 1,000 metric tonnes of plastic, avoiding 20,000 metric tons of CO2 through operations in Nigeria and Liberia.
