Empresa General de Inversiones is a Panama-based holding company engaged, through its subsidiaries, in the financial and real estate sectors, as well as in the oil industry. As of 31 December 2011, it owned subsidiaries Empresa General de Capital, Empresa General de Petroleos, and Grupo Financiero BG. It has operations in Panama, Latin America, and the Caribbean. The company was founded in 1973 and is headquartered in Panama City, Panama.
