Professionals working in information technology earn the highest wages in Switzerland, according to data reported by the Wall Street Journal. The average salary for someone in the middle of their career was just over $170,000, beating Belgium (in second place) by almost $20,000.
There’s very little change in the league table with the top five the same as last year. Nations offering higher salaries continue to pull in IT professionals from around the world. Professionals working in countries such as India still earn about a third of their American counterparts.
The ranking did not take into consideration other factors like tax rates that can reduce the value of salaries, nor did it make adjustments to take into account the anomalies created by exchange rates.
