I am an experienced Business Leader with over 20 years of solid project management experience working in various organizations in East, Central, Southern and West Africa. I have built a fantastic network of contacts in the public, private and non-profit sectors across the continent. I am extremely passionate about ways in which responsible and sustainable business can contribute positively to the development of Africa. My educational qualifications include an MBA in Strategic Management from Moi University, Kenya and a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Entrepreneurship) from the University of Northern British Columbia in Canada. My country experience in Africa includes Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Ghana, DRC, Republic of Congo, Zambia, Lesotho, Swaziland, Mozambique, Mauritius and South Africa. Beyond Africa, I have lived and worked in Canada, United States, Japan, Netherlands and United Kingdom. I am currently engaged as the Regional B Team Lead (Africa) on full secondment from Safaricom PLC. Safaricom ( is Kenya's leading telecommunication services company and East/Central Africa's largest company by market valuation, revenue and profitability. We offer a comprehensive range of integrated solutions including voice and data (both mobile and fixed), SMS, internet and financial services. The company currently serves 30 million customers of whom 27 million are registered and active MPESA users. As at FY19, Safaricom recorded US$ 2.4 Billion in Revenue, EBIT of US$ 896 million and Net Income of US$ 630 million. Embedded within Safaricom's Corporate Affairs Division, I manage Safaricom's engagement with The B Team ( and responsible for all B Team activities in Africa. The B Team ( was co-founded by Sir Richard Branson and Jochen Zeitz to bring together a group of global business leaders to redefine business to be a force for environmental, social and economic progress. We work towards making business be a more responsible agent for change. Safaricom PLC is a founder member company of The B Team and as a business we put into practice the three key pillars of The B Team including; Net zero by 2050, 100% Human and a robust Governance and Transparency program.
