The combination of rising geopolitical tensions and conflict, climate change, demographic pressures and food insecurity continue to accelerate stress factors that produce humanitarian needs. With the gap between needs and response widening, traditional relief must be accompanied by new solutions with new partners that build independence and support income generation for the most vulnerable communities. The Global Future Council on the Humanitarian System will endeavour to strengthen inclusive local markets and livelihood opportunities in fragile contexts, by accelerating capital investment into humanitarian areas, better leveraging digital technology and empowering the private sector to collaborate more readily.
