Karen Sack
Karen is CEO and President of Ocean Unite, a non-profit founded in 2015 with a mission to deliver the science-based target of strongly protecting at least 30 percent of the Ocean by 2030 and build ocean resilience globally.
She was formerly Senior Director for International Oceans at The Pew Charitable Trusts where she initiated the Global Ocean Commission. Before that she was the Head of Greenpeace International’s Political & Business Unit and of their international oceans campaign. Karen has overseen a number of global campaigns to secure a new high seas biodiversity treaty, establish large marine reserves and sanctuaries, reform the EU’s Common Fisheries Policy, end illegal fishing and high seas bottom trawling, and drive political and policy action to protect marine species.
